Abu Dabi Louvre Museum
Louvre Abu Dhabi is the new way of bringing different cultures together to share stories of humanity.
Focusing on what unites us: The stories of human creativity that transcended individual cultures or
civilisations, times and places. From its foundation as a collaboration between two cultures to the
dazzling architecture that combines French design with Arabic heritage.
The origins of the Louvre Abu Dhabi are from 2007 when France and the United Arab Emirates came
together developing a new cultural institution. As a result of a magnificent Museum based on
universal human values, the first of it’s kind in the region.
A perfect representation of the dynamic nature of the contemporary Arab world, while celebrating the
region’s vibrant multicultural heritage. It represents a unique opportunity to combine the UAE’s bold
version of cultural progression and openness with France’s expertise in the world of art and museums.
The Museum exposes from prehistory to the present day with the aim of introducing respect, curiosity,
learning and self-reflection.
